Jennifer Zee has used her talents in many different creative pursuits over the years, embracing the journey as her career evolved from science to photography, to illustrations, and now printmaking.
Her printmaking work is fascinating. She conceives of, and then draws the design, carves the blocks, and then uses the blocks to create the print, oftentimes incorporating multiple colours in her intricate scenes.
Her educational background includes a Master of Science in Biology and a Master of Fine Arts in Art & Design, so you won’t be surprised to hear that she creates meticulously designed, beautiful tributes to the natural world.
On this episode, host Angela de Burger chats with Jennifer about her creative approach when starting a new project, why elements from the natural world end up with starring roles in her designs, and why she contributes her talent and time to important social causes.
