Tracey Erin Smith is an award-winning performer and director, as well as the founder of SOULO Theatre. Using her extensive knowledge and experience she guides people from all walks of life as they develop, write and ultimately perform a one-person show of their own.
She is a tour de force theatre artist who works with actors, comedians, bankers, lawyers, clergy, drag queens and everyone in between, helping them tell their life stories on stage.
Tracey is also the creator of “Drag Heals”, a hybrid stage workshop and documentary TV series that follows eight drag artists over an intensive ten day workshop as they build their own show.
On this episode, host Angela de Burger chats with Tracey about the role creative self-expression plays in helping people speak their truth, what inspired her to develop a theatre company that’s focused on self-created solo shows, how she develops a supportive learning environment, and the creative approach she takes to support people as they share their powerful, personal life stories.
